About DKA

David Kunle Agunbiade—DKA, to many, founded the DKA Creative Writers’ Network (DCWN). This umbrella outfit oversees two annual writing contests, namely, the DKA Annual Poetry Prize and the DKA Annual Short Story Writing Competition, initiated in 2023. Both contests award significant cash prizes to the three top writers.

British-born Nigerian DKA is an author, creative writer, spoken word artist, and doctoral research student (Ph.D.) in Creative and Critical Writing, currently ongoing at London’s University of Greenwich.

He also has a degree in law and two master’s degrees in international human Rights Law and Creative Writing with Publishing, respectively, from the University of Derby in the United Kingdom.

DKA self-published his first fiction in 2020, a short story titled “The Trolley,” and is currently working on his first full-length novel, "Gods of Men."

David founded the FictionbyDavid Mentorship Initiative for Young and Aspiring Writers, a platform through which he mentors young African creative writers. He is also an impassioned social commentator, with articles often appearing in The Whistler, one of Nigeria's leading digital newspapers.

At the start of 2024, David founded a publishing company, FictionbyDavid Publishing Ltd, based in Lagos, Nigeria. The publishing house serves to enable young, aspiring writers in Africa to have the same competitive opportunities as their peers in developed countries.

David works with a small and dedicated team of exceptional and highly skilled individuals who make up TEAM DKA, working collaboratively to drive his vision.
